Who is Eligible?
Our home meal delivery is available for residents of North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls, Olmsted Township and Westlake. Eligible recipients are are individuals unable to shop for or prepare meals safely by themselves. This includes the elderly, and individuals who are temporarily ill, convalescing, disabled or home-bound.
Our Meal Delivery Service
Meals are provided weekdays between 11 am and 12 pm, except on major holidays. We deliver both a hot entree and cold meal with each visit. Recipients must receive delivery of both daily meals in person, five days a week. We realize your schedule may occasionally change due to travel or doctor’s appointments. With a minimum of 24-hours notice, we may be able to accommodate your temporary schedule. Unfortunately we can not respond to email quickly enough so please call 440.871.2551 with schedule changes.
Special Dietary Needs
We are happy to accommodate your doctor’s orders for special dietary meals. These meals are prepared for us by St. John’s Medical Center and delivered by our caring volunteers.
To initiate delivery call 440.871.2551 — you may need to leave a message! Our Recipient Intake Volunteer will contact you and gather delivery instructions, emergency contact, dietary needs and billing information. Typically the intake process takes 48-72 hours. Doctor-ordered meals take a bit longer.
We ask that a primary contact person be present at the time of the first delivery. At that time we will provide our financial and delivery policies. Since your satisfaction is our goal, we also schedule an in-person follow-up interview approximately two weeks after food delivery starts to make sure you’re happy.
What’s the Cost?
Westlake Meals on Wheels is a private-pay program operating without any government subsidy. The weekly meal delivery charge is $40 ($8 per day for one hot and one cold meal). Less than fast-food! We charge by the actual number of meal delivery days and specifically by the week. (Due to holidays and weather, some weeks are shorter.)
